Gently cruise down the river that once cradled Larry Vicaire, a Micmac guide famous for his canoeing skills, storytelling prowess, and knowledge of the forest and Restigouche River. During the last quarter of the 19th century, he was the last guide of Princess Louise, daughter of Queen Victoria, and the province’s renowned fishing camp, Larry’s Gulch, was named after him.

The log driver highway

Follow the trail of these courageous men and relive an important part of the region’s history! Each spring, the log drivers would brave the freezing waters during the season’s breakup period and travel over 120 km to deliver lumber to the sawmills. Retrace their steps and be immersed in the springtime beauty that announced their return after spending months away from home.

Transportation services

A transportation service is also available for those who have their own equipment. Prices vary depending on the distance to be traveled.
 

Car transportation to Rafting Grounds:

  • $60 (with boat rental)
  • $70 (without rental)

 

 

Reservation and cancelation policies:

A non-refundable, 25% deposit is required for any boat or package reservation. If you should cancel a reservation, your deposit may be used as credit on future activities. You can make changes to your itinerary or schedule at any time, free of charge, depending on availability.
